Colors are an important part of our identity and it is in play in all our design and communication — and blue is at our very core.
We divide the program in several palettes that are assigned different roles; primary colors, supporting colors, markers and backgrounds.
Note that some colors change appearance whether it is on screen (transmitted color) or print (reflective color). Hence, the most brilliant blues will only be at its most electric on screen, replaced by a more tempered expression in print.

Primary colors
Our primary colors consist of a rich range of blues. These blues are based on AFK Blue and they serve as the main identity colors for Arendals Fossekompani, in combination with white space. The blues can be supplemented by our supporting colors and markers in order to create a lively expression, but the blues should always dominate the visual impact on each element.

Supporting colors
Our supporting color palette are greys and accent colors, giving variation to the blues, strengthening the associations towards water, nature and sustainability. It adds warmth and a personal touch to the perception of the identity and we encourage using these where applicable.

Markers
The markers are vibrant and modern colors, playing well with the primary and supporting color palette. The markers are to be used in small amounts only, but are very effective to highlight content or details in an overall setting, adding visual points of interest.
